Product Description:
ECPNC8-23 is a multi positioning module from B&R Industrial Automation. It offers a powerful solution for multi-axis motion control. The module can be used to control up to 4 axes. It can be used with absolute or incremental encoders. The input frequency range is 100 kilohertz and the input resolution is 32 bits. The module supplies 5 to 24 Volts DC power to connected encoders. Three sink type digital inputs are also available on the module. These inputs can be connected to triggers or limit switches. Voltage rating for the digital input channels is 24 Volts DC. The input delay is 10 milliseconds. The ECPNC8-23 is equipped with one relay output. This output is rated for 24 Volts DC and can switch currents up to 1.5 Amps.
An analog output is also available on the ECPNC8-23 module. It supports 12 bit resolution and the voltage rating is ±10 Volts. The module is CE certified. The module requires one slot in the industrial chassis. Diagnostics LEDs for the four axes are located at the front side near the bottom. The 15-pin female connector for the digital inputs is located at the front side near the top. Below this connector is the 25-pin female motor connector. Below the motor connector is the 37-pin female encoder connector. Fixed mounting screws are installed on the module at the top and bottom. After sliding the module into its designated slot, it can be made secure by tightening these mounting screws. The module PCB has several ICs and other electronic components. Personnel working on the module must use a static-free environment. The module should only be handled by personnel wearing grounding straps.
