Product Description:

The ECPNC8-13 from B&R Automation is a high-performance encoder connection module intended for connection to signal encoders through a 37-pin D-type female connector. This module accepts a broad range of voltage signals for signal encoders, from 5 to 24V, and accepts both single-ended and differential signals.

The inputs are not galvanically isolated, and they incorporate a programmable input filter to be either 1 us or 10 us, depending on the application. This module can also handle external Encoder supply voltage range from 5V to 24V, it has a very high input frequency of 100 KHz and a counter frequency of up to 400 kHz when using a four-fold evaluation making it suitable for high-speed applications. The counter itself is capable of supporting a 32-bit binary format. To enhance the usability of the ECPNC8-13, the device has several modes such as absolute, incremental, incremental/decremental counter, and event counter modes. It has 12 galvanically isolated digital inputs with a 24VDC power supply, and specific switching thresholds that range from 7V to 14V with an input current of approximately 6mA at 24VDC. The response time for these inputs is on the order of 10 ms.

This module also has 16 transistor outputs that work at a voltage of 24 VDC with a maximum voltage of 30 VDC and can supply 400 mA per output. This makes the ECPNC8-13 a perfect choice for controlling several devices in intricate automation systems. The availability of numerous features makes this module appropriate for various industrial automation applications, thus demonstrating B&R Automation's dedication to offering flexible and effective automation solutions. The product is available at Wake Industrial with a one-year warranty period.
