The ECEP05-0 part of the B&R Automation ECF Memory Module is a high-performance surface mount power inductor intended for applications in factories.
In high-frequency DC-DC converters, filters, and power supplies where reliable operation and energy transfer efficiency are crucial, its 5 μH inductance makes it effective. The inductor has a high rated current of 11.5 A, which enables the inductor to work on high power without getting saturated or overheated, and a very low DC resistance (DCR) of only 7.7 mΩ, giving low power losses and thus efficiency. The saturation current of 13.5 A ensures that the inductor can keep up during temporary high-current peaks, and the current of temperature rise of 11.5 A indicates its ability to resist overheating at steady state. With its shielded structure, it minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI), and it enhances functionality in noise-sensitive applications. Ferrite core material also further acts in the efficiency and reduction of core losses over a large frequency range up to 1 MHz.
It is surface mount, and automated manufacturing is possible to install into high-volume production lines, with tape and reel packaging. It is very dependable in challenging conditions, and has an active temperature spectrum of -40°C to +125°C. It also has a storage temperature capability of -55°C to +150°C. The inductor's UL94 V-0 flammability grade offers a high degree of safety, and its insulation resistance of 100 M Ohm at 100 VDC, or higher, ensures superior electrical isolation. It is categorized as moisture sensitivity level (MSL) 1, has unlimited floor life under normal manufacturing environment, and helps with robust and flexible assembly.
