The ECEP05-0 part of the B&R Automation ECF Memory Module is a high-performance surface mount power inductor intended for applications in factories.

In high-frequency DC-DC converters, filters, and power supplies where reliable operation and energy transfer efficiency are crucial, its 5 μH inductance makes it effective. The inductor has a high rated current of 11.5 A, which enables the inductor to work on high power without getting saturated or overheated, and a very low DC resistance (DCR) of only 7.7 mΩ, giving low power losses and thus efficiency. The saturation current of 13.5 A ensures that the inductor can keep up during temporary high-current peaks, and the current of temperature rise of 11.5 A indicates its ability to resist overheating at steady state. With its shielded structure, it minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI), and it enhances functionality in noise-sensitive applications. Ferrite core material also further acts in the efficiency and reduction of core losses over a large frequency range up to 1 MHz.

It is surface mount, and automated manufacturing is possible to install into high-volume production lines, with tape and reel packaging.
