Product Description:
The 8ECR0020.1111C-0 Motor Cable is engineered for continuous use with a solid power output and good protection. It is designed and manufactured by B & R Automation and belongs to the CM16 Motor Cables series.
The 8ECR0020.1111C-0 motor cable has an operating voltage of 30 Veff which means it is suitable for signal transmission and low power control. It consists of three twisted pairs, with conductors of 24 AWG and possibly some 19 AWG that suggests different wire gauges for different signal types. The module main connector has 12 electrical contact points which allows multiple signal lines or channels to pass through one connector. Each of its wires does not have its own shielding which may make them more susceptible to EMI. All of its wire pairs are color-coded for easy identification during installation or repair. When it is connected the assembly is dust-tight and can withstand strong water jets (IP66) and temporary immersion (IP67). Its conductors are made of tinned (corrosion-resistant) copper strands which improves flexibility and longevity especially in dynamic or high humidity conditions. For identifications its wires have specific coloring which is aligned with standard resolver or encoder wiring schemes.
The 8ECR0020.1111C-0 motor cable is resistant to oils that include hydraulic oils which makes it suitable for industrial or automation systems with harsh environments. The polyurethane from which its exterior body is made is a tough, flexible and chemical resistant material that’s often used in cables for high mechanical stress and industrial use. It has strong shielding that includes 90% copper braid and foil which provides excellent EMI protection that is essential in environments with motor drives and switching equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions about 8ECR0020.1111C-0:
Q: Why is a PUR outer jacket used in the 8ECR0020.1111C-0 motor cable?
A: PUR offers superior resistance to abrasion, oil, and chemicals. It enhances cable durability in high-stress industrial automation environments.
Q: How does tinned copper stranding improve the cable's performance?
A: Tinned copper enhances corrosion resistance and improves conductivity. It also increases cable flexibility for dynamic motion applications.
Q: Why are the conductors in 8ECR0020.1111C-0 arranged in twisted pairs?
A: Twisted pairs reduce electromagnetic interference and signal crosstalk. This ensures more accurate signal transmission in noisy industrial environments.
Q: What is the benefit of having a foil and 90% copper braid shield?
A: This dual-shielding structure ensures high-level EMI protection. It’s especially effective in installations near motors or switching devices.
Q: How does the resolver connector contribute to application accuracy in 8ECR0020.1111C-0?
A: The 12-pin resolver connector allows precise signal routing for position feedback. It’s critical for accurate motion control systems.
