Product Description:
The 8ECH0007.1111A-0 Motor Cable is part of B & R Automation’s CM16 Motor Cables series designed for industrial automation. It features robust construction and advanced shielding which makes it ideal for demanding motion control and automated machinery applications.
The 8ECH0007.1111A-0 Motor Cable is approved for use in both the European economic area and the UK as it meets the relevant safety and quality standards such as CE and UKCA. It also complies with North American safety standards such as 21223, 22381, 21209 & CSA C22.2 No. 210 I/II A/B FT1 which means it can operate at high voltages (up to 1000 V) and elevated temperatures (80–90°C) with flame retardancy tested (FT1). The module exterior jacket is made of polyurethane, which is durable, abrasion resistant and flexible essential for industrial environments with mechanical stress or frequent motion. While the cable outer jacket color is orange which is commonly used to denote power cables or safety critical wirings. It comes as 6 wires with signal line configuration of 2x 0.30 mm² + 4x 0.15 mm² thereby incorporating fine signal conductors which are suitable for sensor, encoder or feedback signals. The module differentiated wire colors help simplify installation and maintenance.
The CM16 series module features a combination of foil shielding and tinned copper braiding to ensure strong protection against electromagnetic interference that helps maintain reliable signal quality in VFD systems and electrically noisy industrial environments. It comes with a paired signal line stranding which helps minimize electromagnetic interference and cross talk between pairs. The cable has a cross-section of 1.5 mm² which is suitable for supplying power to a 3 phase motor with an additional ground or neutral wire.
Frequently Asked Questions about 8ECH0007.1111A-0:
Q: Why does the 8ECH0007.1111A-0 cable use a PUR jacket instead of PVC?
A: The PUR jacket offers superior abrasion resistance and mechanical strength over PVC. It is ideal for dynamic industrial environments with repetitive motion or vibration.
Q: How does over 85% optical coverage in shielding improve cable performance?
A: High optical coverage enhances protection against electromagnetic interference. It ensures signal stability, particularly near variable frequency drives or in noisy electrical environments.
Q: Why are signal wires paired in the 8ECH0007.1111A-0 cable?
A: Paired stranding minimizes signal crosstalk and improves noise rejection. This is essential for maintaining clean data transmission in servo or feedback systems.
Q: What benefit does the 0.75 mm² tinned copper auxiliary line provide in this cable?
A: The tinned copper resists corrosion and oxidation, improving long-term reliability. The 0.75 mm² size supports moderate auxiliary loads like brakes or sensors.
Q: Why does the 8ECH0007.1111A-0 Motor Cable combine power and signal wires in one jacket?
A: Combining both reduces the need for multiple cable runs and simplifies cable management. It also enhances EMI protection by using a single comprehensive shield.
