Product Description:

The 8BCM0025.1111A-0 is a professionally built motor cable with an operating voltage rating of 1000 VAC (UL), hence it is ideal for applications involving high-voltage motors. Made by B & R Automation, this oil-resistant cable meets HD 22.10 appendix A and DIN EN 60811-404 standards and is durable in conditions of exposure to industrial oils.

The 8BCM0025.1111A-0 motor cable consists of four power conductors, each with a 1.5 mm² cross-section, made of tinned copper stranded wire for flexibility and to prevent corrosion. All of the power lines are covered with PP (polypropylene) insulation and color-coded black, brown, blue, and yellow/green for easy identification during installation and maintenance. This cable is 25 meters in length to provide sufficient flexibility for integration into large automation systems or motor applications with a need for greater reach. The total diameter of this cable is 12.2 mm ±0.3 mm, which allows it to be easily routed through standard routing channels while still being durable and strong. This cable’s power conductor resistance has a rating of ≤13.7 Ω/km and is designed to enable steady current flow with minimal energy loss over large distances.

Apart from power transmission, four signal lines in the form of 2 pairs of 0.75 mm² conductors are also provided in this cable for signal and control data transfer. The stranding of the 8BCM0025.1111A-0 cable involves filler elements, which strengthen the mechanical integrity of its overall structure. A foil shield is added to this cable to minimize electromagnetic interference for better reliability in signal communication. For strong shielding, this cable is provided with tinned copper braiding above 85% optical coverage, in addition to the internal foil shield for protection against electrical noise. The test voltage between this cable’s shield and wire is 4 kV for verifying insulation integrity under conditions of stress.

Frequently Asked Questions about 8BCM0025.1111A-0:

Q: Why is polypropylene used for insulation in this motor cable?

A: Polypropylene offers excellent electrical insulation and is highly resistant to oils and chemicals, increasing the cable's lifespan in harsh conditions.

Q: How does the tinned copper braiding enhance EMI protection in 8BCM0025.1111A-0?

A: The >85% optical coverage of the braid acts as a physical barrier, significantly reducing external electrical noise. This ensures stable signal transmission in industrial environments.

Q: What is the purpose of including filler elements in 8BCM0025.1111A-0?

A: Filler elements improve mechanical strength and maintain roundness, which helps during flexing and routing in tight installations.

Q: How does the 4 kV test voltage benefit the 8BCM0025.1111A-0’s performance?

A: This high test voltage ensures robust insulation integrity, helping the cable withstand electrical stress and surges in industrial settings.

Q: Why are the power conductors stranded instead of solid in 8BCM0025.1111A-0?

A: Stranded wires increase flexibility and reduce the chance of breakage during repeated bending, making them suitable for dynamic machine environments.
