Product Description:
The B & R Automation's made 5CASDL.0004-21 Motor Cable features two separate connectors: an ODU MINI-SNAP 24-pin male connector and a DVI-D (24+1) male connector. The ODU MINI-SNAP connector accommodates 2000 mating cycles, while the DVI-D connector has 200 mating cycles to provide stable and repeatable connections over the long term.
The 5CASDL.0004-21 cable measures a total of 0.4 meters with a tolerance of ±10 mm, which makes it suitable for short-distance and space-saving installations. Its bend radius is defined as 71 mm, and it is applicable to both fixed and flexible installation arrangements. This cable supports a maximum of 300,000 flex cycles in drag chain use, providing superior performance under high-movement conditions such as robotics and automated systems. This cable has a layered shielding system, comprising aluminum-clad foil and tinned copper braiding to ensure outstanding electromagnetic interference (EMI) resistance. This two-layered shielding ensures clean signal transmission, even in electrically noisy conditions. The wave impedance of this cable is 100 ±10 Ω, which maximizes signal integrity and prevents possible transmission loss in digital and high-frequency systems.
The external casing of this cable is made of special semi-matte TMPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane). This material improves mechanical strength and offers better resistance to oil, abrasion, and temperature changes. The external jacket of this cable also has a permanent print: (B&R) SDL Cable (UL) AWM 20236 80°C 30V E 63216, distinctly marking the specifications and UL recognition of this cable. The flame-retardant construction, as per UL 758 vertical flame test specs, provides safety to this cable in the confined industrial environment where fire resistance is crucial. The weight of the 5CASDL.0004-21 cable is around 200 grams overall and balances flexibility and durability, and is readily incorporated in tight system configurations.
Frequently Asked Questions about 5CASDL.0004-21:
Q: Why is dual-layer shielding used in the 5CASDL.0004-21 cable?
A: The aluminum foil and tinned copper braid combination ensures superior EMI resistance. This minimizes signal noise, crucial in industrial automation environments.
Q: How does the TMPU outer jacket enhance cable performance in 5CASDL.0004-21?
A: The semi-matte TMPU jacket increases resistance to oil, abrasion, and temperature shifts. This makes it ideal for demanding mechanical environments.
Q: Why is the bend radius of 71 mm significant for 5CASDL.0004-21?
A: A controlled bend radius reduces mechanical stress on internal conductors. This extends the cable’s lifespan during repeated motion.
Q: What advantage does the 100 ±10 Ω wave impedance offer in 5CASDL.0004-21?
A: It matches the impedance of digital interfaces, reducing signal reflections. This is essential for high-frequency, noise-sensitive transmissions.
Q: How does the 2000-cycle ODU MINI-SNAP connector benefit users?
A: It supports frequent mating/unmating without degradation. This suits modular systems requiring regular maintenance or reconfiguration.
