Product Description:
The APCBB5/3 backplane provides a modular foundation for advanced industrial computing with ARM architectures. Within the APC series, it supports today's most powerful ARM processors while facilitating fast memory and abundant storage. Despite upholding high performance, the backplane also maintains a small footprint through an ATX form factor well-suited to tightly-packed machinery.
Enabling configurations from basic controllers to analytics-ready systems, the backplane allows up to 16GB of the latest DDR4 RAM through a pair of slots. Further expanding capabilities are four SATA
ports delivering 6Gb/s transfer speeds and capacities up to 64TB utilizing today's highest density drives. Together, this endows systems with powerful reserves for even the most data-intensive applications. Complementary carrier boards installed upon the backplane furnish expansion slots and interfaces optimized for specific ARM implementations across generations from ARMv6 to ARMv8. This permits leveraging integrated features like PCI-Express, USB, and Ethernet inherent to the chosen processor.
Installation of optional heat sinks may also be required under high thermal loading to fully exploit certain CPU capabilities. Capable of operating from -20 degrees C to 70 degrees C, the APCBB5/3 provides reliable service even in machinery stationed outdoors or vast unheated facilities. A 24V DC input voltage likewise simplifies power sourcing within industrial environments characterized by diverse voltages. Together, these attributes fulfill demanding 24/7 operational needs better than consumer or desktop-bound alternatives. Whether integrating as standalone HMI terminals, machine vision controllers, or SCADA systems, the modular architecture supports flexible application while upholding consistent longevity under punishing field conditions. Manufacturers appreciate having a single industrial-hardened platform adapting to their varying ARM demands as technologies progress.
