B&R Automation manufactures the APC910 as part of its APC Industrial Automation PC Units series. This unit is an industrial computer designed to execute control, visualization, and data-handling tasks directly on the factory floor. It ties motion controllers, drives, and higher-level networks together inside a cabinet-rated environment. It is intended for cabinet installation in automation systems that require computing, communication, and display functions from one platform.

The system runs on a nominal supply of 24 V DC and draws up to 5.5 A in steady operation, while an inrush of 60 A is tolerated during power-up. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports support data rates up to 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, allowing simultaneous machine-level and plant-level connectivity. A bank of 4× USB 3.0 + 1× USB 2.0 sockets is provided for service tools, removable media, or human-machine interface peripherals. A single CFast slot accepts SATA III cards over a 6.0 Gbit/s channel, and the internal controller recognizes one card at a time. Serial integration is handled through a DSUB 9-pin male connector wired for RS-232, and the port supports data exchange up to 115 kbit/s. One DisplayPort and a separate DVI-I port connect operator panels or external monitors without adapters, and the hardware includes two physical Ethernet jacks for redundant topologies.

During power interruptions, the internal buffer holds logic power for 10 ms. The onboard lithium cell supplies BIOS and real-time clock energy at 950 mAh. The sealed electronics meet the IP20 protection class, making the PC suitable for clean, closed cabinets with forced air cooling. A single CFast bay, one DisplayPort, and the DSUB serial connection are all accessible from the front panel. With two Ethernet channels, RS-232 signaling, and a SATA III CFast interface, the APC910 consolidates fieldbus bridging and local visualization within a 24 V DC control voltage system.
