Designed as a compact control and visualization computer, it integrates directly into machine cabinets where deterministic processing and fieldbus interfacing are required for automated lines, packaging equipment, and motion systems. The device provides the computing platform for real-time tasks, user interface handling, and data exchange with higher-level supervisory controllers, allowing a PC-based architecture to take the place of conventional PLC hardware in some applications.

For reliable operation on global mains supplies, the unit accepts an AC input from 85-132/170-264 VAC, allowing either 120 V or 230 V feeds without manual range switching. Total internal dissipation is limited to 110 W, so the cabinet sees a moderate thermal load during operation. Processing performance comes from a Pentium-class CPU that can reach 1.26 GHz, which is suitable for multitasking HMI layers and motion kernels. Temporary program and cache storage is capped at 512 MB of SDRAM, matching the chipset of its period while still supporting medium-sized control applications. A front-mounted axial fan with a diameter of 120 mm draws filtered air across the motherboard to keep component temperatures within normal operating limits during continuous 24/7 duty.

The motherboard is fitted with a Universal Socket 370, which supports compatible Celeron or Pentium III processors. Four legacy communication channels are available through the rear I/O, and the presence of 4 serial ports eases integration of barcode readers, drives, or simple RS-232 sensors. The panel also hosts 4 USB ports, and each port supports the original full-speed data rate of 12 Mbit/s.
