Product Description:
The 8JSA52.E6045D200-0 synchronous motor is manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8JS Synchronous Motors series and is intended for servo axes that demand precise position and velocity control in industrial automation. As a rotating actuator, it works with a matched inverter to deliver controllable torque, allowing coordinated motion in packaging, printing, and material-handling machinery. Its size 5 frame and moderate length code 2 provide a balance between a compact footprint and the continuous power density required for multi-axis installations.
Its nominal speed of 4500 rpm is the continuous operating velocity available to the drive under rated conditions. A permanent-magnet rotor provides responsive torque, while a standard brake with 14.5 Nm of holding torque secures vertical loads during power loss. Position feedback is produced by an optical EnDat encoder that provides 2048 lines per revolution. The encoder supplies 13-bit single-turn position data without multi-turn position data. The system’s angular accuracy of ±20 arcsec supports fine contouring, while Optical EnDat 2.1 serial communication sends absolute single-turn data to the controller. This feedback arrangement allows the controller to determine the shaft position within one mechanical revolution after startup, eliminating the need for an external homing device in many applications.
Thermal stability is maintained through self-cooling, so no external blower or liquid circuit is required. The stator housing supports flange mounting, allowing the unit to bolt directly to gearboxes or machine frames without alignment plates. Power and feedback conductors exit through an angled swivel connector, reducing cable strain in tight enclosures and allowing the cable direction to be adjusted during installation. A smooth shaft supports clamp couplings that provide secure torque transfer without a keyway. The absence of an oil seal minimizes running friction and makes the motor suitable for clean environments where lubricant migration must be avoided.
