B&R Automation manufactures the 8JSA44.R0040D000-0 synchronous motor as a member of the 8JS Synchronous Motors series. Designed for closed-loop motion in industrial automation, the unit converts electrical energy into precise rotary torque for positioning tables, pick-and-place heads, and indexers. Flange installation and a compact frame let it integrate directly with gearboxes or belt drives, while the resolver feedback ties the shaft angle to the drive controller in real time and allows the motor to act as a core actuator wherever repeatable velocity and torque are required.

During continuous duty, the motor reaches a nominal shaft speed of 4000 RPM while delivering 3.69 Nm of torque and drawing 3.1 A of phase current. For short overloads, it can supply 23.8 Nm with a corresponding peak current of 25 A, and at standstill it can hold 5.88 Nm with 5 A of stall current. Self-cooling lets these loads run without external airflow. A flange mounting face centers the frame, and the angled swivel connector routes power and feedback cables. The smooth shaft mates with clamping hubs, five pole pairs generate the synchronous field, and the resolver provides position feedback with an accuracy of 10 angular minutes.

Electrically, the three-phase stator shows 2.8 Ω of line-to-line resistance and 11.5 mH of inductance, which help shape current response and support drive tuning.
