Product Description:
The 8JSA42.R0035D100-0 synchronous motor is produced by B&R Automation within the 8JS Synchronous Motors series. It converts servo drive power into controlled rotary motion for axes in packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and general material-handling equipment. By combining permanent-magnet excitation with a resolver feedback system, the motor maintains precise torque and speed, while its compact frame geometry supports direct flange coupling to gearboxes or machine plates in space-constrained machine layouts. This arrangement allows the connected drive to regulate motion under changing loads while maintaining stable performance during repetitive production cycles.
The motor reaches a nominal speed of 3500 rpm, allowing fast indexing cycles without overshooting position loops. Heat is removed through self-cooling, which allows the housing surface to dissipate thermal losses without an external blower. This cooling method simplifies installation and eliminates fan-related maintenance points. Power and feedback conductors exit through an angled swivel connector, so the cable set can be routed parallel to the mounting face in tight spaces. Rotor position is detected by a resolver, which delivers sinusoidal reference signals that remain reliable under vibration or electrical noise. Its feedback precision is 10 angular minutes, allowing the servo controller to monitor small changes in rotor position during closed-loop operation.
The motor uses flange mounting to transmit reaction forces directly into the machine frame. A keyed shaft provides positive engagement with pulleys or couplings and prevents slippage under peak loads. The unit has motor size 4 and a motor length 2 stator stack, providing continuous torque within a compact housing depth. The design does not include a holding brake, so an external brake or another suitable mechanism must secure vertical loads when power is removed. It also does not include an oil seal, so the installation must prevent lubricant from reaching the shaft opening when exposure is possible.
