Product Description:
The 8JSA34.I1015D022-0 synchronous motor is built by B&R Automation as a member of the 8JS Synchronous Motors series. It combines permanent-magnet excitation with closed-loop current regulation from a compatible drive to generate consistent torque and velocity. Operating as a direct-coupled servo element, the motor removes belt or gear backlash and supports synchronized multi-axis motion profiles. In automated pick-and-place stations, indexing tables, and coordinated conveyor zones, it supplies the precise rotational motion required to position tooling or material accurately within each machine cycle.
The power and feedback leads are routed through an angled swivel connector, allowing the cable bundle to be rotated during installation so the strain relief aligns with cabinet entries. A standardized B14 face with flange mounting locates the stator concentrically to the load without requiring external foot brackets. Rated output is achieved at 1500 rpm, a speed that balances torque density with low audible noise during continuous service. Heat generated during acceleration is removed through self-cooling, so the enclosure only requires unobstructed airflow. For applications that require power-off load retention, an external brake must be supplied because the motor is delivered without a holding brake.
The housing has size 3 proportions, giving it a 70 mm class pilot diameter that fits midrange machinery frames. The motor uses length code 4, indicating a longer active magnetic core that provides higher continuous torque than shorter versions of the same diameter. Because the motor has no oil seal, the shaft passage remains open, and installation in environments with pressurized coolant or circulating lubricant should be avoided. A smooth shaft end is provided, so torque is transferred through clamping hubs or compression couplings rather than keys. This shaft arrangement helps minimize mechanical play at the coupling while allowing secure attachment to a directly driven load.
