Product Description:
The 8JSA32.R0030D700-0 synchronous motor is built by B&R Automation for the 8JS Synchronous Motors series. Serving as a direct-drive element in industrial automation, the unit converts three-phase inverter output into controlled rotary motion for indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and feed rollers. Its electromagnetic design supplies consistent torque across a wide speed range, while the flange interface allows the motor to be integrated into compact assemblies.
During continuous duty, the rotor turns at a nominal speed of 3000 rpm, providing the baseline speed reference for the compatible servo drive. Thermal losses are dissipated through self-cooling, which eliminates the need for an external blower and simplifies airflow requirements around the motor. Position feedback is generated by a resolver, whose analog sine-cosine signals are processed by the drive. The feedback system maintains an encoder accuracy of 10 angular minutes, allowing commanded positions to repeat within tight mechanical tolerances. The motor uses flange mounting, with a centering pilot and threaded holes that align the shaft with connected gearsets. The keyed shaft provides positive torque transfer, and the motor is supplied without a holding brake for applications that use drive-based dynamic braking or an external holding mechanism.
Cable routing is supported by an angled swivel connector that can be rotated to match the layout of neighboring components, reducing bending stress on the harness. Within the 8JS portfolio, this model has motor size 3 and a motor length of 2, giving it a moderate footprint while providing useful continuous torque capacity. An internal oil seal isolates the front bearing from gearbox grease and ambient contaminants. The seal helps protect the bearing area when the motor is installed near lubricated mechanical components. The adjustable connector also supports cleaner cable paths in compact machinery where nearby panels, gearboxes, or structural members restrict the available routing space.
