Product Description:
The 8JSA32.R0030D000-0 synchronous motor is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 8JS Synchronous Motors series. It is a permanent-magnet AC unit intended for industrial automation axes that require repeated start-stop cycles and accurate velocity control. When paired with a compatible servo drive, the motor supplies constant torque to positioning tables, pick-and-place arms, or conveyor stations. Its compact overall dimensions allow installation in machine frames where available space is limited.
The rotor operates at a nominal speed of 3000 rpm, allowing direct coupling to gearboxes or belt pulleys used in high-cycle applications. Heat generated during continuous operation is removed through self-cooling, eliminating the need for forced-air components. The motor has a frame designation of size 3 and a stator stack of length 2, which establish its physical envelope and influence rotor inertia. These characteristics help system designers match the connected load with the available drive current and desired acceleration profile. A flange-mounting interface on the front housing provides four threaded holes for rigid attachment to machine plates, helping maintain alignment under axial and radial loading.
Rotor position is monitored by a resolver, and the feedback system supports an accuracy of 10 angular minutes through electrical interpolation. This level of feedback accuracy supports medium-precision indexing and controlled-speed applications without requiring a separate external position sensor. Power and signal cables exit through an angled swivel connector, allowing the cable harnesses to be directed away from moving parts while reducing strain at the connection point. The motor has a smooth shaft for use with press-fit couplings or clamped hubs, and it is supplied without a holding brake. Static loads must therefore be secured by an external brake or another suitable holding mechanism when motor torque is unavailable. The shaft does not include an oil seal, so the motor should be protected from lubricants that could travel along the shaft and enter the housing.
