The 8BVR0880H000.100-1 connector module is produced by B & R Automation for the 8BVR Temperature Sensor Connectors series. It is installed on a wall inside control cabinets to terminate and distribute temperature-sensor lines in automated plants. The device has front-mounted screw-terminal power lugs and an integrated line reactor, creating a compact link between field instrumentation and the plant power bus.

During steady operation, the module carries up to 90 Aeff without overheating conductors or busbars. Short-term events such as inrush or fault clearing can reach 180 Aeff, a capacity that helps keep supply voltage stable while upstream protection trips. The internal reactor provides 0.5 mH of inductance, which limits current rise time and filters high-frequency noise that may interfere with low-level thermocouple signals. At rated load, the assembly dissipates 420 W, so cabinet ventilation must remove that heat to keep the unit within component limits. An enclosure class of IP20 blocks accidental finger contact with live parts but does not seal against dust or liquids, reinforcing the need for installation in a protected electrical room.

The insulation path is rated for Category III overvoltage, permitting direct connection to branch circuits inside machinery without added isolation transformers. Operation remains valid up to an ambient temperature of 55 °C, assisted by passive conduction through the 412 mm × 293 mm × 165 mm housing. Functional limits are unchanged at altitudes up to 4000 m, so no derating is needed in high-elevation installations. Face-up mounting lugs and the option to stand horizontally provide flexibility when space is tight. With a mass of 40.2 kg, the unit requires adequate support brackets and appropriate handling during installation.
