Product Description:
The 8BVR0440H000.101-1 connector is produced by B&R Automation. It belongs to the 8BVR Temperature Sensor Connectors series and provides an interface for temperature-monitoring circuits in automated machinery. It is installed between temperature probes and the I/O rack so that measured signals reach the controller through a consistent impedance path. The connector also carries return current for heaters or other field devices connected to the same harness within the machine.
Its built-in network provides 680 Ω of resistance, allowing the control system to perform line-supervision checks without additional hardware. The terminals withstand a continuous load of 45 Aeff, which is the maximum current that can flow without increasing the internal temperature beyond rated limits. A depth of 95 mm simplifies cabinet layout because it leaves clearance behind standard DIN rails. For high-altitude sites, output capacity must follow a derating rate of 3.6 Aeff per 1000 m. The design remains certified for operation at elevations up to 4000 m above sea level. Startup or fault transients can peak at 180 Aeff for less than ten seconds, allowing the connector to tolerate brief current surges without component damage.
The connector is rated for modules drawing up to 30 kW, so it can be paired with medium-power drive stacks inside a shared enclosure. Its open frame has an IP00 rating, which means the control cabinet must shield all live parts from contact. Creepage and clearance distances accommodate a nominal line voltage of 480 V, placing the device in Overvoltage Category III for industrial mains. The connector is intended for wall mounting in a horizontal orientation, which stabilizes its 251 mm width and 304 mm height profile. Passive airflow dissipates the 2 W of heat generated by the internal resistor. Adequate cabinet ventilation and the required installation clearances help keep conductor and resistor temperatures within their permitted operating ranges.
