The 8BVP1650HC00.000-1 is a three-phase power supply built by B & R Automation for the 8BVP ACOPOS Power Supplies series. Installed at the head of an ACOPOS drive stack, it rectifies the AC line input and establishes a stable DC bus that feeds multiple inverter modules. In addition, a regulated 25 VDC ±1.6 % connection provides control electronics with the low-voltage power needed for diagnostics and communication. By combining high-power conversion with auxiliary supply functionality, the device serves as the central energy node in coordinated motion systems found on packaging, printing, and assembly lines.

Under continuous operation, the supply can deliver 120 kW to the bus rails, and it sustains surge demands up to 240 kW for acceleration peaks. The DC link is regulated at 750 VDC, and at that voltage the output path is rated for 165 A, giving ample reserve for high-torque axes. Energy is switched through IGBT stages that operate at 5 kHz, a frequency that balances conduction loss with manageable electromagnetic emissions. Maximum installed load is limited to 124 kW, and a filter fan draws 4.2 A to maintain thermal stability.

The internal buffer bank totals 3630 µF, supplemented by a 1.8 µF discharge network that bleeds the bus when input power is removed. At startup, the inrush limiter restricts line current to 102 A at 400 Vac, protecting upstream breakers. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, and the unit may be mounted up to 4000 m above sea level without derating.
