Product Description:
The 8BVE0500HW.000-1 is a power supply and DC-bus interface module produced by B&R Automation within the 8BVE ACOPOSmulti Drives series. It is installed in control cabinets to build the shared DC link that energizes multiple axis modules in industrial automation cells. By combining a compact 53 mm width with wall-mounting hardware, the device occupies little panel space while delivering the voltages required for precise motor control in packaging lines, robotic stations, and conveyor systems.
Its auxiliary electronics are supplied from a 25 VDC ±1.6% input so that logic circuits remain stable even when the main bus is unloaded. The internal capacitors operate on a DC link rated at 750 VDC, giving downstream inverters the voltage needed for high-speed servo operation. Overcurrent events are interrupted by an ultra-fast-acting fuse element that minimizes let-through energy. The module accepts two 14 × 51 mm fuse cartridges that plug into the front panel. Control power consumption does not exceed 5 W, so heat generated by signal processing contributes little to cabinet temperature. Alarm contacts rated for 30 VDC at 1 A signal fuse trips to the controller. The maximum expansion distance of 5 m between bus segments allows flexible cabinet layouts, while a depth of 263 mm and a height of 317 mm establish the required installation space.
The module has a power dissipation of 200 W, and this heat is removed through natural convection when the unit is mounted vertically on a cabinet wall. Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C; above this threshold, derating is required to keep semiconductor junctions below their limits. The enclosure carries an IP20 protection rating, so live parts are shielded from accidental contact, but the cabinet must provide protection from dust. Operation is supported at installation heights up to 4000 m, after which reduced air density affects cooling performance. The housing dimensions and tolerances allow multiple modules to align without spacers.
