B & R Automation manufactures the 8BCM0017.1034C-0 as part of its 8BC ACOPOS Cables series. This flexible hybrid assembly links an ACOPOS drive to a synchronous motor, carrying the three-phase supply, protective earth, and differential encoder channels in a single route. This single-cable arrangement also reduces the number of separate cable runs between the drive and motor, which helps simplify routing through cable carriers and compact machine spaces. By merging power and feedback paths, the cable shortens installation time and helps maintain EMI control in precise, high-throughput industrial automation lines.

At the core of the assembly is a layered conductor set whose overall diameter is 10.1 mm ±0.3 mm. Inside, four 0.75 mm² power cores and two shielded twisted pairs of 0.34 mm² create a 4 × 0.75 mm² + 2 × 2 × 0.34 mm² layout. The mating side is terminated with an 8-pin female series 915 connector rated for fewer than 500 mechanical insertions. The cable has a length of 17 m. In cable trays, it is rated for 13.5 A, while wall-mounted installation is rated for 13 A. During constant-motion applications such as drag-chain runs, the cable endures at least 5,000,000 flex cycles without conductor fracture. Sealing to IP66/67 blocks dust ingress and resists water exposure, allowing the cable to run outside enclosures and along articulated axes.

The outer jacket is formed from PUR, giving abrasion resistance and resilience to oils commonly present near servo actuators. Electrical safety is supported by a wire test potential of 4 kV. In steady operation, the power cores have a resistance of ≤26.7 Ω/km, while the signal pairs stay below 56 Ω/km to support stable differential transmission. Overall insulation resistance remains at least 500 MΩ·km, which helps keep leakage current low in humid settings.
