The 8BAC0133.000-1 output module is built by B & R Automation for the 8BA ACOPOS Modules series. It mounts on an ACOPOS backplane and translates controller timing signals into differential line drivers that synchronize nearby servo axes. By delivering deterministic edges to downstream hardware, the board forms part of the motion system’s feedback distribution layer for packaging, printing, and assembly machines. This role lets the module pass precise timing information to nearby equipment when several axes must react in step during high-speed machine cycles.
The unit is assigned to Slot 2 on the drive rack, so addressing is fixed. Under continuous activity, its electronics draw a maximum of 2 W, minimizing heat load in densely populated cabinets. The driver stage can toggle up to 1 MHz, helping pulse trains remain accurate for high-resolution encoder simulation. All field signals leave the board through a 9-pin female D-Sub connector, and the coded shell helps prevent accidental cross-connection with unrelated interfaces. At the terminals, the module supplies a nominal differential amplitude of 2.1 V. It provides 3 electrically isolated outputs, and internal galvanic barriers keep return currents away from sensitive logic. Both low-to-high and high-to-low switching delays are 50 ns, so duty-cycle integrity is preserved across the full frequency span. Short-circuit detection disengages the driver during overload, and the circuit automatically recovers after the fault is removed.
Signals use RS422 (Differential), so each channel can drive shielded twisted-pair runs with good noise resistance. A factory-installed 120 Ω terminating resistor on every output further suppresses ringing. An internal clamp limits fault current to 250 mA, after which the channel returns to a safe high-impedance state. The device maintains stable behavior at 55 °C ambient temperature and up to 85% relative humidity, allowing placement near power electronics where switching noise and localized heat are common.
