The 8BAC0130.001-1 is a digital output module produced by B&R Automation for integration within the 8BA ACOPOS Modules series that accompanies ACOPOSmulti servo drives. It installs beside the power electronics to switch external actuators such as valves, contactors, or indicator lamps in synchronized motion tasks. Through its plug-in format, the unit provides deterministic output control that is timed directly by the drive controller, allowing coordinated machine sequences without dedicated remote I/O wiring.
This module provides 6 digital outputs, including 2 high-speed outputs optimized for motion-related signals. Those two channels can toggle at up to 62.5 kHz, carry a continuous load of 50 mA, and withstand a short-circuit pulse of 0.2 A before the internal protection reacts. Galvanic separation from the ACOPOSmulti DC bus is provided, so controller transients do not propagate onto field wiring, while the individual channels are not isolated from one another. Each output can be read back to confirm the commanded state, and the nominal switching voltage for all channels is 24 VDC, matching common sensor supply rails. Maximum power drawn from the backplane is 800 mW, so thermal loading inside densely populated drive cabinets remains low. Physical connection to the wiring harness is handled through a 10-pin multipoint connector that mates without tools during module exchange.
The remaining channels consist of 4 standard outputs. They switch loads at a repetitive frequency of up to 1.25 kHz and source as much as 500 mA per point, with an electronic cutoff at 1.2 A to prevent trace damage. Every output shares the same 0 V reference because isolation between outputs is absent, so field power distribution must avoid ground loops. A 24 VDC supply is required at the terminal block, and the module’s 10-pin connector carries both this field voltage and the feedback lines to the drive, simplifying panel routing.
