Product Description:
The 8BAC0130.000-1 belongs to the 8BA ACOPOS Modules series from B&R Automation. This compact I/O expansion module attaches to an ACOPOS drive stack through a 10-pin multipoint connector and supplies discrete control signals between the motion controller and field devices. Within an automation cell, it handles fast sensor acknowledgment and actuator triggering so that axis control, safety interlocks, and product tracking can be executed in real time without burdening the main PLC. Because the module mounts directly on the drive stack, it also helps keep signal paths short and response behavior consistent during coordinated motion.
The module provides 2 digital inputs that are wired to a sink circuit and accept field levels up to a nominal 24 VDC, allowing standard proximity switches or opto-couplers to be read directly. On the output side, it offers 4 digital outputs. Two of these are high-speed push-pull channels rated for up to 50 mA each with a worst-case propagation delay of 1 µs, enabling precise edge placement for stepper direction signals or encoder simulation. The remaining outputs operate as high-side drivers intended for conventional solenoids or relays, and together with the inputs they draw no more than 800 mW from the servo bus. This split output arrangement supports both pulse-oriented control tasks and ordinary switching duties without external interface hardware.
For cyclic operations such as registration marks or electronic gearing, each fast channel can toggle at frequencies up to 62.5 kHz. The standard drivers sustain load currents up to 500 mA with a switching delay not exceeding 50 µs, and their maximum repetitive rate is 1.25 kHz. A common switching voltage simplifies wiring because identical supply groups can feed sensors and actuators. The high-side drivers are suited to field devices that need more current than the fast push-pull channels can supply, so one module can cover both timing-critical pulse tasks and heavier switched loads in the same ACOPOS drive system.
