The 8B0M0140HW00.000-1 is a modular power-distribution chassis manufactured by B&R Automation for the 8B0 ACOPOS Multi Power Supplies series. Installed in multi-axis control cabinets, it links the line-side converter to downstream servo drives through a shared DC bus while also providing an auxiliary low-voltage rail. This arrangement lets multiple axes draw from a common energy source during acceleration and return braking energy to the shared bus during deceleration. By consolidating bulk power conversion and regeneration handling, the unit reduces cabinet wiring, saves panel depth, and enables coordinated energy sharing among ACOPOS inverters.
Inside the housing, the backplane offers 14 card positions, and each position draws 8.25 W of standby power, allowing high channel density without excessive heat. A laminated copper bar rated for 200 kW distributes motion energy, and the bus potential is fixed at 750 VDC so connected inverters receive a stable supply. That potential is routed through a conductor with a cross-section of 72 mm², which helps limit resistive losses. The frame holds 10 fan modules above the power section, providing the required cooling assemblies for the chassis. Mechanical alignment is maintained by a surface flatness limit of 1 mm along the rail, and each slot offers 21.3 mm² of terminal area for auxiliary wiring. A matching PE conductor runs beside the bus to carry fault currents safely.
The assembly operates up to 4000 m above sea level; above 500 m, the main bus output must be reduced by 20 kW/1000 m, while the auxiliary rail derates by 150 W/1000 m. The auxiliary supply can deliver 1500 W at a regulated 25 VDC ±1.6% to power I/O boards and encoders. Compliance with Overvoltage Category III supports direct connection to building-level distribution. The auxiliary output can also support control components that require steady low-voltage power separate from the main motion bus.
