The 8B0M0040HW00.000-1 power supply module is manufactured by B & R Automation and belongs to the 8B0 ACOPOS Multi Power Supplies series. Designed for cabinet-mounted multi-axis drive assemblies, the unit generates a high-energy DC link and a regulated auxiliary rail so that multiple inverters can share a common supply. In an automation cell, this arrangement cuts wiring, minimizes losses, and permits coordinated regenerative braking while keeping the control electronics active through its 24 V service bus.
It maintains a DC bus at 750 VDC; at this potential, the internal conductors continuously transfer up to 200 kW to connected servo drives. A separate auxiliary stage delivers 1500 W at 25 VDC ±1.6% for I/O, encoder, and brake feeds. The housing provides 4 slots for plug-in axis modules, and each slot is limited to 8.25 W of dissipation so the thermal load stays within limits. Its 135 mm overall depth permits dense side-by-side mounting. Three replaceable fan modules force air through the chassis and keep active components below their temperature limits. The assembly can be installed at elevations up to 4000 m without derating.
Power conductors are accommodated by a DC bus rail with a cross-section of 72 mm², while the protective-earth bar matches that area and the 24 V service line uses 21.3 mm². These dimensions keep current density low and reduce temperature rise during full-load transfer.
