B&R Automation manufactures the 8B0M0020HW00.000-1, a rack-mounted power supply in the 8B0 ACOPOS Multi Power Supplies series. Installed alongside servo inverters, it feeds a common DC bus that allows motion axes to share energy during acceleration and regeneration, reducing the amount of cabinet hardware required. The module occupies two adjacent backplane positions and supports the auxiliary and protective earth conductors required by multi-axis industrial automation systems. Its rack-mounted format allows it to connect directly to compatible power stages without separate bus wiring between each drive.
The unit supplies the bus at 750 VDC and can deliver up to 200 kW of continuous electrical power to connected drives. Its auxiliary branch provides control electronics with 1500 W from a 25 VDC rail carried by conductors with a cross-sectional area of 21.3 mm². Main DC energy enters through copper bars with a cross-sectional area of 72 mm². The power stage is secured to the ACOPOS backplane through two card slots. The module measures 110.5 mm wide, 13.5 mm deep, and 385 mm high, allowing dense installation within a compatible rack. A single fan cassette moves air across the module to control operating temperature and support continuous power delivery as heat builds inside the cabinet.
For installations above 1000 m, output must be reduced at a rate of 20 kW per 1000 m. Continuous operation is supported at elevations up to 4000 m, allowing the module to be used in facilities located well above sea level when the required power reduction is applied. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, which protects against accidental finger contact but requires installation inside a closed cabinet for dust protection. The module has a mass of 1.06 kg, which must be considered when selecting rack supports and mounting hardware. Backplane screws align and secure the assembly next to the drive amplifiers, while the auxiliary feed maintains power to the control electronics during transient load changes.
