Product Description:
The 7XX436.50-1 bus controller is produced by B&R Automation for the 7XX Bus Controllers series. Designed as an extension node, it brings mixed analog and digital I/O directly to machinery while remaining synchronized with the central CPU. By housing signal conditioning and field wiring in a compact enclosure, the unit shortens cable runs and supports modular expansion in packaging lines, conveyors, and other automated equipment. Through the series’ X2X backplane, it forwards process data and receives commands in real time, allowing additional sensor channels or actuator drivers to operate without a separate PLC.
The module provides 4 analog inputs that accept differential ±10 V signals. A 20 MΩ input resistance minimizes sensor loading, while 12-bit resolution provides 4,096 discrete codes across the input span. Matching output circuitry supplies proportional drive references to four analog actuators, including valves, drives, and position-control devices. Internal logic and conversion stages operate from a 24 VDC control supply. Total power consumption is limited to 5.0 W, helping reduce heat accumulation when multiple modules are installed in the same protected cabinet.
The input bank provides 8 digital channels with optically isolated sink or source inputs for capturing machine status signals. Eight high-side transistor outputs switch connected loads such as relays, indicator lights, and signaling devices. Combined output loading can reach 10.0 A while remaining within the applicable limits for each channel. Cyclic data exchange with the controller is handled through the X2X Link Slave interface, which keeps the remote node synchronized with system scan times. The housing measures 80 × 170 × 30 mm and carries an IP20 rating that protects against accidental contact with internal electrical parts. Its source output circuit and compact housing support direct DIN-rail installation inside a protected electrical cabinet.
