The 6PPT50.156B-16A is an industrial human-machine interface engineered by B&R Automation for the 6PPT Power Touch Panels series. Installed on machines or inside control cabinets, the unit displays production metrics and accepts operator input through a scratch-resistant glass front. Acting as the visual gateway between PLCs and operators, it helps start batches, adjust set points, and acknowledge alarms without an additional PC.
Compute and visualization resources are integrated directly behind the screen. The ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor clocks at 800 MHz, giving enough headroom for HTML5 dashboards and protocol conversion tasks. Working memory totals 1 GB, so multiple pages and trend buffers remain active without swapping. Graphics are rendered at 1366 × 768 pixels across a 15.6 in widescreen, supplying space for detailed mimic diagrams. Backlight output of 400 cd/m² supports readability under overhead lighting and light oil mist. A projected-capacitive layer supports multi-finger input, and application files reside in 512 MB of soldered flash.
Connectivity and enclosure protection make the panel suitable for harsh shop floors. Two RJ45 connectors expose redundant Ethernet paths, and throughput reaches 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, so video streams and OPC UA traffic can share the same link. Service devices attach through two USB ports, while an internal flash module stores recipes and log files when the network is offline.
