The 6PPT50.121E-10B is an HMI touch panel built by B & R Automation within the 6PPT Power Touch Panels series. Designed for machine-level visualization, it gives operators direct access to process data and command entry through a capacitive screen. In an automated line, it serves as the graphical interface between PLC control layers and field equipment. The display can present status pages, alarm views, and input dialogs in a single front-mounted unit.
Processing tasks are carried out at a clock frequency of 800 MHz and are supported by 64 kB of L1 and 512 kB of L2 cache to accelerate instruction lookup. The panel runs on 1 GB of SDRAM for application data, while its onboard NAND flash provides 512 MB of nonvolatile storage for the operating system and recipes. A TFT color screen renders 16.7 million colors at a native resolution of 1280 × 800, allowing detailed graphics and alarm messages to be viewed without scaling artifacts. For network connectivity, the integrated Ethernet controller negotiates speeds of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, permitting direct attachment to Gigabit backbone switches. Multitouch input is captured with projected capacitive technology, enabling gesture support even through thin safety glass.
These processing, memory, and communication resources are packaged behind a panoramic 12.1 in front panel whose cover glass is rated at 6H surface hardness to resist abrasion from gloved operation. The electronics are supplied from a single 24 VDC source and draw a maximum of 11.4 W, so the unit can share the same low-voltage circuit that feeds sensors and I/O modules. Its CPU is a ARM Cortex-A9, Dual Core device, which provides headroom for local scripting, protocol conversion, or edge analytics while the main controller handles deterministic motion. The front-mounted format keeps visualization, touch input, and local processing in one machine-level interface, so status review and command entry remain on the same device.
