The 6PPT50.101E operator terminal is produced by B&R Automation within the 6PPT Power Touch Panels series. It serves as a human-machine interface that brings visualization, alarm handling, and basic control functions directly to the machine level. This allows operators to adjust parameters, review process messages, and monitor live data without accessing the main controller. Local interaction also helps keep routine supervision at the point of use, where machine status can be viewed immediately.
The panel uses an embedded ARM Cortex-A9 dual core processor clocked at 800 MHz, giving adequate execution time for real-time graphics and scripting. Program files reside in 512 MB of flash, while active data are buffered by 1 GB of DRAM to support trend recording and recipe management. During operation the unit draws a maximum of 10.6 W, which keeps enclosure heat rise low and eliminates the need for forced ventilation in many cabinets. A 512 kB L2 cache reduces latency between the CPU and main memory, and two USB 2.0 ports allow application updates or external storage attachment without opening the housing. The separation between flash storage and working memory helps the panel stay responsive while graphics, logged values, and application tasks run at the same time.
User interaction occurs on a 10.1 in projected capacitive screen that renders at 1280 × 800 pixels, supplying a clear workspace for diagnostics and status widgets. The bezel carries a IP65 front / IP20 back rating, so the front face tolerates splashing fluids while the rear remains suited for protected enclosures. Continuous operation is specified from -20 to 60 °C, making the panel suitable for refrigerated areas or high-temperature zones near processing equipment. A 24 VDC supply, overall dimensions of 271.5 × 190 × 42.2 mm, a 1.3 kg weight, and dual USB connectors simplify installation on swing arms, pedestal mounts, or panel doors in distributed control architectures.
