Product Description:
B & R Automation manufactures the 6PPT30.101G-20W operator interface as part of its 6PPT Power Touch Panels series. This panel-mount human-machine interface combines a color display with an embedded controller, allowing machine builders to present status data, alarms, and process commands directly on a cabinet door or machine frame. Within an automation cell it functions as the visual and tactile link between PLC logic and plant personnel, allowing operators to start cycles, adjust setpoints, and monitor key parameters in real time.
The screen spans 10.1" on the diagonal and employs an LED backlight that delivers 500 cd/m² of typical luminance so messages remain legible under shop lighting. Native resolution is 1024 x 600 pixels, providing a wide workspace that accommodates trend graphs and soft keys without scaling artifacts, while a contrast ratio of 500:1 preserves color separation for alarm states. An analog resistive touch layer is scanned by a 12-bit controller, giving 4096 discrete points per axis so the unit registers finger or stylus input even through gloves. Front protection is rated at IP65, which prevents dust ingress and shields the electronics from low-pressure water jets encountered during washdown or maintenance.
Computing resources center on a ARM Cortex-A8 processor paired with 256 MB of DRAM and 512 MB of flash, supplying execution bandwidth and nonvolatile recipe storage for standalone operation. Network connectivity is handled by 2 x 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet ports that let control and plant traffic remain on separate links, while two USB 2.0 receptacles simplify data logging or program loading. The electronics are powered from a 24 VDC supply. At nominal voltage the unit draws up to 429 mA, resulting in a maximum power dissipation of 10.3 W and supporting modest cabinet ventilation.
