The 6PPT30.101G operator interface panel is produced by B & R Automation as part of the 6PPT Power Touch Panels series. It integrates an embedded computer and a touchscreen so maintenance staff and machine operators can issue commands, review alarms, and visualize process values directly at the cabinet door. Designed for industrial automation, the unit mounts from the front side of an enclosure and supports continuous 24 VDC field power to minimize wiring complexity inside the control system.
Processing tasks are handled by an ARM Cortex-A8 running at 1 GHz, giving the panel enough headroom for real-time visualization and lightweight control scripts. Program variables and graphic objects reside in 256 MB of DRAM, while firmware, recipes, and historical data are stored in a non-volatile 512 MB flash device. Operators view the interface on a TFT display that renders 16.7 million colors at a native resolution of 1024 × 600, delivering clear text and trend graphs without external monitors. Ethernet connectivity is provided through a 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 port for deterministic links to PLCs or SCADA layers, and a USB 2.0 Type A socket is available for keyboard, mouse, or data-logging sticks.
The screen measures 10.1 in diagonally and accepts input through analog resistive touch technology, allowing use with gloved hands in machining or packaging cells. Its aluminum front carries a sealing gasket that achieves IP65 ingress protection against dust and water jets, while the steel rear section is rated IP20 so heat can dissipate into the cabinet air. A regulated supply of 24 VDC powers the electronics; at full brightness and maximum processor load the consumption reaches 10.3 W and draws up to 429 mA. Combined with a back-up battery for the real-time clock, these electrical figures let designers size power supplies accurately and ensure stable operation in distributed I/O stations.
