B&R Automation manufactures the 6PPT30.070M-20B, a human-machine interface panel in the 6PPT Power Touch Panels series. The device combines a widescreen TFT display with an integrated processor so operators can visualize process states and issue commands directly on the plant floor. Within an industrial control architecture, it serves as the local point for parameter entry, alarm acknowledgment, and status monitoring, linking field equipment to supervisory systems through its resistive touchscreen and onboard electronics for reliable around-the-clock duty.

The front surface is occupied by a 7.0" diagonal TFT that renders graphics at 480 × 800 pixels. Color depth reaches 16.7 million, allowing detailed process mimics and alarm palettes to be differentiated without dithering. A luminance of 500 cd/m² keeps the screen legible under factory lighting, while the analog-resistive sensor layer accepts input from gloved hands or stylus tips. At the center of the unit, an ARM Cortex-A8 processor handles screen refresh, protocol stacks, and user scripts. The processor interfaces with 256 MB of DRAM for runtime variables and 512 MB of onboard flash for application storage, so recipe data and event logs can remain local without external memory cards.

For cabinet installation, thermal and space allowances are limited because the panel draws only 9.34 W at a maximum operating current of 389 mA from a 24 VDC supply. The housing measures 197 mm high by 140 mm wide, yet depth is held to 47.8 mm, permitting shallow door mounting without interfering with other components. Installation weight is just 0.6 kg, so the bezel can be secured on thin sheet-metal doors without additional reinforcement.
