Product Description:
The 6PPT30.0702-20B operator panel is supplied by B & R Automation within the 6PPT Power Touch Panels series. Designed as a human-machine interface for machine lines and process stations, it combines display, processing, and low-voltage power in one enclosure. The housing measures 197 × 140 × 47.8 mm and weighs 0.6 kg, so it fits into shallow control cabinets without additional brackets. This compact layout allows the panel to serve as a local control point without requiring separate display and processing hardware in smaller machine sections. The rear side uses an IP20 layout suited for protected cabinets, making the unit appropriate for standard industrial mounting positions.
The visualization surface spans a 7.0" diagonal and renders at 800 x 480 pixels, providing enough pixel density for alarms, trends, and soft keys. Input is captured through an analog resistive touchscreen, which supports operation with gloved hands and simple touch navigation on production equipment. An onboard 256 MB DRAM bank supports application variables and graphic buffers, while 512 MB of flash stores the operating system, project files, and recipe data. The panel runs on a ARM Cortex-A8 processor that executes the Automation Runtime environment without auxiliary CPUs. Two shielded RJ45 Ethernet connectors permit network daisy-chaining or service separation, and two USB 2.0 ports support file transfer and peripheral access through the rear panel.
The front panel meets IP65, so washdown or dusty areas do not compromise the touchscreen during normal use. When connected to a 24 VDC supply, the electronics draw up to 389 mA, corresponding to a peak demand of 9.34 W. That modest load helps the panel share auxiliary power rails with sensors, indicators, and other low-power control devices. Internal regulation helps the unit ride through brief line dips, and the passive enclosure relies on convection cooling to maintain operating temperatures without fans. This fanless arrangement also keeps the enclosure simple and avoids added airflow hardware around the operating interface.
