Product Description:
The 5PPC2100.BY44-000 is an integrated control and visualization unit built by B & R Automation for the 5PPC Power Panels series. It combines a touchscreen interface with an embedded PC so that machine operators can issue commands while the unit simultaneously executes PLC logic. By housing visualization, field-level control, and network communication in one enclosure, it reduces cabinet space and wiring in industrial automation cells.
Core processing is supplied by an Intel Atom E3845 that runs on 4 cores at a base clock of 1910 MHz. This quad-core design allows separate threads for user interface, deterministic control, and background diagnostics. System memory consists of 4 GB of DDR3 SDRAM operating at DDR3L-1333. The low-voltage standard minimizes power draw while maintaining sufficient bandwidth for high-resolution graphics. An Intel HD Graphics controller clocked at 792 MHz renders the on-panel display and accelerates vector-based HMI objects without loading the CPU. The graphics engine shares main memory, so throughput benefits directly from the 64-bit memory bus.
Field connectivity and physical characteristics are aligned with decentralized machine layouts. Two RJ45 jacks expose Gigabit Ethernet with a peak data rate of 1 Gbit/s, enabling real-time protocols and high-volume diagnostics. External peripherals such as barcode scanners can be attached through 2 USB ports, and a single CFast slot provides removable program or recipe storage. Thermal dissipation is limited to 10 W TDP, permitting fanless installation in confined cabinets. The rear housing carries an IP20 protection rating, while the 190 × 115 × 29.7 mm envelope eases flush mounting on operator stations. Two independent Ethernet controllers support redundant network topologies, and the nominal supply of 24 V DC ± 25% allows direct tie-in to standard machine power buses.
