It serves as a human-machine interface, allowing machine operators to issue commands and monitor status directly at the production line through a combination of hard keys and a touch screen. By consolidating visualization and control functions in a single sealed housing, the unit simplifies integration into industrial automation cells. The layout supports direct interaction at the machine, so routine adjustments and status checks can be handled from one front-mounted panel.

The screen is a TFT color module with a CFL backlight that outputs 300 cd/m² of luminance, making graphics visible under typical factory lighting. Image detail is rendered at 800 × 600 pixels, and the 12-bit color engine supports 262,144 hues for clear status indication. A diagonal size of 12.1 in (307 mm) provides a usable viewing area without requiring deep mounting space. The panel has 46 function keys, each with an individual LED, so commonly used machine routines can be reached quickly while illuminated keys provide immediate visual feedback. The aluminum front frame is sealed to IP65 / NEMA 250 Type 4X, blocking dust ingress and high-pressure washdown so the panel may be installed on food, packaging, or outdoor equipment. This arrangement allows the display and key area to remain readable and accessible even where the surrounding machine is exposed to debris or moisture.

The CFL backlight is rated for 50,000 hours, supporting long service intervals before brightness loss becomes noticeable. External cabling can be extended up to 10 m, enabling remote mounting on swing arms or pendant stations without degrading signal integrity. Mechanical size is confined to 482 × 310 × 31 mm, which eases enclosure layout in crowded cabinets. While the front is sealed, the rear carries IP20 protection that suits sheltered cabinet interiors. An analog, resistive touch layer based on Accu Touch technology accepts gloved input, and the panel recognizes both key and touch events concurrently. That combination gives the interface flexibility for applications where users may alternate between fixed key commands and on-screen selections during normal operation.
