The 5D5601.02 is an operator interface panel produced by B & R Automation within the 5D5 Provit Interface Panels series. The unit combines a 12-inch color display, membrane keys, and a resistive touch surface so that machine operators can issue commands and monitor status directly at the production line. In an automation cell, it connects to PLC or motion controllers and serves as the human-machine interface, replacing conventional push-button stations with a compact graphical terminal.
The screen delivers a luminance of 300 cd/m², making process graphics readable under standard factory lighting. Its active area measures 12.1 in diagonally and renders at 800 × 600 px, which provides enough pixels for detailed schematics without taxing controller bandwidth. Color depth reaches 262,144 hues, allowing status shades and alarm tones to be differentiated at a glance. The TFT panel uses a CFL backlight, which provides consistent illumination across the surface while maintaining moderate power draw. A polyester decor foil protects the display from scratches and cleaning fluids, and front sealing reaches IP65, so dust and low-pressure water jets cannot enter during washdown or coolant splash.
