The 5D5500.10 operator panel is produced by B & R Automation within the 5D5 Provit Interface Panels series. This interface panel serves as a local human-machine interface, giving operators a graphic view of controller data and a keypad-based method for command entry on production lines and packaging systems. By mounting the unit on an enclosure door, the interface stays close to the process and removes the need for separate PC stations. The panel also includes communication ports that can relay status messages and alarms to supervisory networks without additional gateways.
The panel’s mounting depth is only 38 mm, allowing installation in shallow cabinets. Its bezel measures 387 mm high by 310 mm wide and carries a 10.4 in (264 mm) color TFT display that operates at a native resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. A CFL backlight maintains contrast on dim plant floors, and the graphics controller supports up to 262,144 colors so alarm states, trends, and menu items remain easy to distinguish. When mounted as directed, the enclosure attains a NEMA Type 4X rating, permitting use in food, beverage, or marine areas where corrosion resistance and washdown capability are required.
