Product Description:
The 5D5212.24 belongs to the 5D5 Provit Interface Panels series. It is an operator terminal intended for machine-level visualization and command entry, allowing users to enter setpoints and monitor status directly at the workcell. This arrangement supports direct interaction at the machine instead of relying on a separate display station elsewhere in the facility. By combining a touch-capable color display with an enclosure sealed against dust and water jets, the panel is suited for packaging machines, printing presses, and other industrial automation equipment that must remain accessible on the factory floor.
The visual subsystem is built on the XGA graphics standard, which supports a 1024 × 768 pixel matrix so that trends, alarms, and detailed process diagrams remain legible without external scaling. A diagonal of 15 in provides enough surface area for multi-window SCADA layouts while still fitting into crowded console doors. Image reproduction is driven by a Color TFT backlit module, and this thin-film transistor structure offers fast refresh and wide viewing angles for animated process graphics. The display format also helps present alarm lists, status fields, and operating screens at the same time. Overall depth is limited by a chassis length of 435 mm, which simplifies retrofits into existing rack cutouts, and the front bezel carries an IP65 rating to prevent dust ingress and low-pressure water exposure when the unit is properly gasketed.
The panel’s classification as an Operator Interface supports mounting near actuators and control stations. Its housing height is only 50 mm, which reduces projection from cabinet doors and lowers the chance of accidental impact. A front width of 330 mm leaves room for nearby pushbuttons, emergency-stop devices, or key switches to remain within easy reach. The shallow housing also helps when the unit is installed in doors or operator stations with limited rear clearance. The unit from B & R Automation is intended for production areas where space, visibility, and resistance to dust and water must be balanced.
