The 5D5200.29 panel is a human-machine interface produced by B & R Automation as part of the 5D5 Provit Interface Panels series. It mounts on machine frames or control cabinets and provides operators with graphical access to process variables, alarms, and recipe data. In an automation cell, the unit serves as the point where PLC data is visualized and where touch input is used for mode changes, setpoint entry, or maintenance screens. This arrangement places display and input functions on a single front panel for everyday machine interaction. Operators can review machine status, acknowledge alarms, and navigate menu-based pages without moving to a separate control station.

The visualization area measures 10.4 in diagonally and uses a VGA Color TFT module, so each pixel is individually driven for accurate color reproduction. Its native matrix of 640 x 480 pixels supplies sufficient detail for equipment status pages, and the surface luminance of 200 cd/m² helps keep text legible under standard factory lighting. The screen illumination is provided by a CFL backlight. The touch technology is Analog Resistive and is paired with an Accu Touch overlay for uniform press force. Rear terminations are housed behind an IP20 shroud, which keeps the low-voltage field wiring separated from the production environment.

The fluorescent backlight is rated for 50000 h, giving many shift cycles before brightness degrades to half of its initial value. A cast front bezel with a sealing gasket attains IP65 ingress protection, so the exposed face tolerates washdowns and airborne dust while the rear remains vented for convection. Mechanical dimensions of 31.00 x 23.50 x 4.50 cm allow installation in shallow panels. The assembly mass of 2.55 kg keeps cantilever loads low on swing-arm mounts. The sealed front face can be placed toward the process area while the vented rear section remains inside the machine or cabinet.
