The 5D5200.01 operator panel is manufactured by B&R Automation and belongs to the 5D5 Provit Interface Panels series. Designed as a compact human-machine interface, it links machine controllers with line personnel, letting users view operating parameters and issue commands through a resistive touch front. The panel’s function in an automation cell is to consolidate local visualization and input, eliminating external keyboards or separate displays while maintaining enclosure protection suited for harsh production areas and routine operator use.

A CFL backlight supplies the screen’s luminance, and the rated brightness of 200 cd/m² allows readout under standard factory lighting. The viewing area spans 10.4 in diagonally on a TFT color panel, presenting graphics and text at a native 640 × 480 pixels. This resolution works with the analog resistive touch surface so operators can navigate menus even when wearing gloves. The faceplate carries IP65 / NEMA 250 Type 4X ingress protection; its anodized aluminum frame shields the display from washdown spray and airborne debris, and the unit is suitable for cabinet mounting. Width and height are fixed at 310 mm and 236 mm, accommodating installation in standard panel cutouts without occupying excessive space in control doors and machine housings.

The housing depth is limited to 45 mm, permitting shallow-door integration and leaving clearance for other cabinet devices. The rear electronics are protected to IP20, which is suitable for protected enclosures and allows ventilation around internal components. Graphics are rendered in 262,144 colors, enabling clear differentiation of status icons and trend lines without dithering. For remote mounting, the panel supports a maximum cable distance of 10 m between the display and its controller interface, allowing flexible placement on swing arms or operator stations while keeping control hardware inside the cabinet and away from the operating surface.
