Product Description:
The 5D2500.38 control display panel is manufactured by B & R Automation within the 5D2 Control Display Panels series. It combines a compact visual interface with a tactile keypad so that automated machinery can present process data and receive operator input in real time. In an industrial enclosure, this unit is mounted on the control cabinet door, giving operators immediate access to diagnostic menus and start-stop sequences without opening the panel.
A front sheet of Polyester decor foil covers the keypad and resists cleaning chemicals. Behind it, nonreflective filter glass limits glare while maintaining the screen resolution of 640 × 480 pixels. The bezel is machined from Anodized Aluminum, and together with a flat front gasket, it seals the faceplate to a protection level of IP65, helping keep washdown spray and airborne dust out of the electronics. Mechanical clearance for installation is set by overall dimensions of 310 × 387 × 38 mm, which match the cutout pattern used for the series. A ribbon-cable display connection simplifies routing inside the cabinet, and the rear side is finished in black powder coating to match the panel color used on the operator console.
The membrane keyboard provides 43 keys arranged in a matrix so that the controller scans inputs quickly with minimal I/O usage. Of those, 23 keys are fitted with dedicated LEDs, giving immediate confirmation that a command has been registered. Up to 128 keys can be connected in parallel across multiple panels, allowing expanded input capacity when several stations share the same bus. Two female connectors on the keypad side simplify wiring, and square key geometry reduces wear on the underlying switch domes. Rear ingress protection is limited to IP20, so the housing must be positioned inside a grounded cabinet where contaminants and casual contact are already excluded.
