The 5D2500.02 is an operator interface unit produced by B & R Automation for the 5D2 Control Display Panels series. As a panel-mounted HMI, it presents process graphics and status indicators for automated lines and production cells. It combines visual monitoring and local command entry in one enclosure, simplifying interaction with connected machine controls.
The screen measures 9.4 inches diagonally and renders images at a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels, matching the VGA format commonly accepted by PLC visualization software. Its CFL backlight has a service life of 10,000 hours before output declines to 70 percent of its initial level, and the rated surface brightness is 70 cd/m². Graphics and alarm colors are reproduced from a palette of 262,144 colors, allowing clear differentiation among process states. The panel front is sealed to IP65, preventing dust and water jets from entering when the unit is properly fastened to a cabinet door. The rear section remains open to the cabinet interior for convection cooling and has an overall IP20 protection class. Nonreflective filter glass covers the LCD to minimize glare from overhead lighting and improve readability in brightly illuminated work areas.
The keypad has 43 tactile keys arranged in a square layout, providing direct access to machine functions and menu selections.
