Product Description:
The 5D2500 is a control display panel produced by B&R Automation within the 5D2 Control Display Panels series. It functions as a human-machine interface that mounts on cabinet fronts to give operators direct access to industrial processes handled by associated controllers. By combining tactile keys with a built-in display, the panel streamlines command entry, status viewing, and alarm acknowledgment on factory lines and machine cells.
The TFT screen renders graphics at 640 x 480 px, a resolution suited to clear visualization of process parameters and diagnostic menus. A housing frame made of anodized aluminum surrounds the display and, together with a flat front gasket and nonreflective filter glass, provides front protection rated at IP65 so washdown spray or dust at the panel face does not affect the electronics. The external size is 310 x 387 x 38 mm, allowing installation in panels with limited door depth while preserving a usable viewing area. The membrane overlay uses polyester decor foil, and the keys use a square geometry that supports a matrix keyboard layout. Illumination for critical functions is provided by 23 LED-backlit keys, while the remaining fixed-function keys complete the keyboard. The flat gasket seals the perimeter without protruding and maintains a flush surface that resists fluid ingress.
For communication with the automation system, a ribbon cable links the display segment to IPC2000 or IPC2001 controllers, and key scanning lines exit through 2 female connectors on the rear panel. Rear protection is rated at IP20, which is appropriate when the unit is installed inside a closed cabinet. The keyboard section has a total of 43 keys arranged in a matrix, enabling compact wiring and straightforward decoding by the host controller. This layout preserves complete functionality for machine operation, recipe selection, and maintenance dialogs.
