The 5D2210.01 is a control display panel produced by B & R Automation within the 5D2 Control Display Panels series. Installed on cabinet doors or machine frames, it functions as the local human-machine interface for IPC2000 Rev. 50.07 and later, as well as IPC2001 controllers in automated lines. Operators use the panel’s integrated touchscreen and color display to adjust setpoints, acknowledge alarms, and observe process status without accessing the main industrial PC.

Visual performance is built around a TFT module with a luminance of 200 cd/m², providing sufficient brightness for indoor production lighting. The panel reproduces graphics in 262,144 colors, allowing the PLC application to use graded status indicators rather than simple binary states. Image detail is limited to VGA (640 × 480 pixels), a resolution matched to legacy and current B & R visualization libraries. The active screen measures 10.4 in diagonally, giving a good compromise between data density and mounting space. A resistive analog touch layer accepts finger or stylus input, so gloved operation is possible in washdown areas. For sealing, the aluminum front bezel is rated IP65, while the housing that remains inside the cabinet carries an IP20 rating to protect low-voltage circuitry from incidental contact.

Mechanical integration is simplified by an enclosure size of 310 × 236 × 45 mm, allowing retrofit into standardized 19-inch door cutouts. The bezel is made of anodized aluminum, giving it a hard surface that resists scratches from tool contact. A flat gasket compresses between the front plate and panel opening, and a polyester decor foil overlays the viewing area to shield the LCD from cleaning agents. The resistive layer uses Accu Touch technology, which maintains calibration across temperature swings and vibration typical of packaging, assembly, and material-handling equipment.
