Product Description:
The 5D2210 operator panel is produced by B&R Automation and belongs to the 5D2 Control Display Panels series. It serves as the local human-machine interface in conveyors, fillers, and assembly lines, allowing operators to visualize machine status and adjust setpoints without opening the control cabinet. Through its integrated touch layer, the unit accepts commands, while the onboard display renders graphical process screens supplied by the PLC. This arrangement lets machine operators review alarms, navigate menus, and respond to process prompts directly at the equipment. Its construction supports front-panel mounting so only the display surface is exposed to the production environment.
The panel features a 10.4 in (264 mm) diagonal screen that uses TFT Color technology to present process graphics with stable contrast across wide viewing angles. Image clarity comes from its 640 × 480 px resolution, which is suitable for detailed mimic diagrams and text messages. A cold-cathode fluorescent backlight raises luminance to 200 cd/m², maintaining legibility under typical plant lighting. The front face meets IP65, preventing dust ingress and withstanding low-pressure washdowns when the unit is gasket-mounted. Supporting components include the CFL inverter board, a light-gray bezel that reduces reflected glare, a polyester decor foil that tolerates cleaning agents, and an aluminum eloxal-coated frame that shields the display electronics from mechanical damage.
Installation space is minimized by the panel width of 310 mm, height of 236 mm, and cabinet intrusion of just 45 mm. Command entry uses the Accu Touch surface, whose analog resistive design accepts input from gloved hands, stylus tips, or bare fingers even in damp conditions. Because the touch layer responds to pressure rather than skin conductivity, it remains practical in work areas where protective gloves are common. This layout allows placement on swing arms or door skins without deep enclosures, and it keeps cable bends short, which can help electromagnetic compatibility with nearby drives.
