Product Description:
The 5D2200.01 control display panel is produced by B & R Automation as part of the 5D2 Control Display Panels series. It is intended to give machine operators direct visual and tactile access to automation tasks on the factory floor. Mounted on the enclosure door or console, it serves as the human-machine interface that relays setpoints, status messages, and diagnostics between field devices and the primary control system.
The screen delivers a luminance of 200 cd/m2, so process graphics remain legible in normal shop lighting. Its viewing area measures 10.4 in (264 mm) on the diagonal and renders images at 640 × 480 pixels, which is sufficient for detailed alarm lists and trend curves. Color is produced by a TFT color display with CFL backlighting, which combines wide viewing angles with long-life cold-cathode backlights. A front bezel rated at IP65 blocks dust and low-pressure water jets when the unit is flush-mounted, while the anodized aluminum frame provides mechanical stiffness without adding excessive weight. A flat gasket supplied with the panel compresses between the bezel and the cabinet cutout to maintain the seal, and the polyester decor foil with a black finish provides a uniform surface for wipe-down cleaning.
User input is handled by an AccuTouch panel that relies on analog resistive sensing, allowing reliable operation with gloves or styluses. For integration, the display communicates with B & R controllers IPC2000 and IPC2001, allowing existing runtime images to be reused without code changes. The rear housing carries an IP20 rating, reflecting its installation inside a protected cabinet. A flat gasket supports even pressure across the mounting flange, and the internal wiring space accepts the CFL inverter board as well as touchscreen tail leads without interference.
