Product Description:

B&R Automation's 5CASDL.0100-03 is a dedicated display cable in the 5CA HMI Cables series. Designed for industrial operator stations, this assembly routes digital video and auxiliary control lines between a cabinet-mounted computer and a remote touchscreen. The part supports dynamic machine axes, allowing the HMI to move with a drag chain while keeping image quality stable during continuous plant operation.

The cable terminates on each end with two DVI-D (24+1) male connectors, providing a direct digital interface to standard graphics controllers. For moving installations, it is qualified for a drag-chain hub of 460 mm and can cycle at 4,800 cycles per hour without exceeding mechanical limits. During routing, minimum bend radii are at least 3.5 times the cable diameter in fixed runs and at least 15 times the cable diameter under flex, supporting up to 300,000 reciprocating cycles. Installation forces are limited to 400 N, and once in service the operating tension must stay below 50 N. The molded plugs withstand at least 200 mating cycles, and the conductor set uses 24 AWG control pairs and 26 AWG data pairs with resistance values not greater than 95 Ω/km and 145 Ω/km, helping maintain low signal loss across typical machine lengths.

Signal integrity is improved by aluminum-clad foil and tinned copper braiding around the cores, which provides more than 200 MΩ/km of insulation resistance and helps minimize electromagnetic interference. The outer sheath is made of special semi-matte TMPU, a thermoplastic polyurethane that resists oil, abrasion, and weld spatter common on production lines. For safe electrical operation, the assembly carries control potentials only, with a maximum working voltage of up to 30 V and a dielectric withstand test of 1 kV wire-to-wire and 0.5 kV wire-to-shield.
