The 5CASD3.1000-00 cable is produced by B & R Automation as part of the 5CA HMI Cables series. By combining shielded twisted pairs with an abrasion-resistant outer jacket, the cable maintains signal integrity and physical durability in automated production environments.

At each end, the assembly uses 2x RJ45, male plugs with eight gold-plated contacts for full-duplex transmission. According to ISO/IEC 11801, the internal construction achieves Category 7 / Class F performance, so pair-to-pair crosstalk and attenuation remain within high-bandwidth HMI requirements. The copper strands exhibit a maximum loop resistance of 75 Ω/km, which helps limit voltage drop across typical panel runs. Operational insulation withstands up to 125 V, allowing low-power device supply lines to share the sheath without exceeding dielectric limits. Dielectric quality is reinforced by a minimum insulation resistance of 5 GΩ/km, which helps minimize leakage current in noisy control cabinets. Over its service life, the latch-protected plugs are rated for at least 750 insertion cycles, allowing repeated connection and disconnection. A flame-retardant, oil-resistant outer jacket made from Polyurethane (PUR) works with internal polyethylene wire insulation to provide durable protection against abrasion, oils, and common cleaning agents used around automated machinery.
